ہزاروں سال نرگس اپنی بے نوری پہ روتی ہے
بڑی مشکل سے ہوتا ہے چمن میں دیدہ وار پیدا
Hazaroon saal Nargis apni be-noori pe roti hai
Badi mushkil se hota hai chaman mein deeda var paida

حیا نہیں ہے زمانے کی آنکھ میں باقی
خدا کرے کہ جوانی تیری رہے بے داغ۔
Haya nahi hai zamane ki aankh mein baqi
Khuda kare ki jawani teri rahe bedagh

اچھا ہے دل کے ساتھ رہے پاسبانِ عقل
لیکن کبھی کبھی اسے تنہا بھی چھوڑ دے
Achha hai dil ke saath rahe pasban-e-aql
Lekin kabhi kabhi ise tanha bhi chhod de

خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے
خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے
Khudi ko kar buland itna ke har taqdeer se pehle
Khuda bande se khud puchhe bata teri raza kya hai

حرمِ پاک بھی اللہ بھی قرآن بھی ایک۔
کچھ بڑی بات تھی ہوتے جو مسلمان بھی ایک۔
Haram-e-pak bhi Allah bhi Quran bhi ek
Kuch badi baat thi hote jo musalman bhi ek

اپنے من میں ڈوب کر پا جا سراغ زندگی
تو اگر میرا نہیں بنتا، نہ بن اپنا تو بن
Apne mann mein doob kar pa ja suraagh-e-zindagi
Tu agar mera nahin banta, na ban apna to ban

ستاروں سے آگے، جہاں اور بھی ہیں
ابھی عشق کے امتحان، اور بھی ہیں
Sitaron se aage, jahan aur bhi hain
Abhi ishq ke imtihan, aur bhi hain

تیرے عشق کی انتہا چاہتا ہوں،
میری سادگی دیکھ، کیا چاہتا ہوں۔
Tere ishq ki intiha chahta hoon,
meri saadgi dekh, kya chahta hoon.

نہیں تیرا نشیمن قصرِ سلطانی کے گنبد پر
تو شاہین ہے، بسیرا کر پہاڑوں کی چٹانوں میں۔
Nahi tera nasheman qasr-e-sultani ke gumbad par
Tu shahin hai, basera kar pahadon ki chatanon mein

دل سے جو بات نکلتی ہے، اثر رکھتی ہے
پر نہیں طاقتِ پرواز، مگر رکھتی ہے۔
Dil se jo baat nikalti hai, asar rakhti hai
Par nahi taqat-e-parwaz, magar rakhti hai

دنیا کی محفلوں سے اکتا گیا ہوں، یا رب
کیا لطف انجمن کا، جب دل ہی بجھ گیا ہو
Duniya ki mahfilon se ukta gaya hoon, ya Rab
Kya lutf anjuman ka, jab dil hi bujh gaya ho

فقط نگاہ سے ہوتا ہے فیصلہ دل کا
نہ ہو نگاہ میں شوخی تو دلبری کیا ہے
Faqat nigah se hota hai faisla dil ka
Na ho nigah mein shokhi to dilbari kya hai

ال ایم میں بھی سرور ہے
لیکن یہ وہ جنت ہے جس میں حور نہیں۔
Alif Lam mein bhi surur hai
lekin yeh woh jannat hai jis mein hoor nahi.

تو شاہین ہے، پرواز ہے کام تیرا
تیرے سامنے آسمان، اور بھی ہیں
Tu shahin hai, parwaaz hai kaam tera
Tere samne aasman, aur bhi hain
