کندھوں پر میرے جب بوجھ بڑھ جاتے ہیں
میرے بابا مجھے شدت سے یاد آتے ہیں۔
Kandhon par mere jab bojh barh jaate hain,
Mere baba mujhe shiddat se yaad aate hain.
عزیز تر وہ مجھے رکھتا تھا رگ جاں سے
یہ بات سچ ہے مرا باپ کم نہ تھا ماں سے۔
Azeez tar woh mujhe rakhta tha rag-e-jaan se,
Yeh baat sach hai mera baap kam na tha maa’n se.
دیر سے آنے پر وہ خفا تھا،
پر پھر مان گیا آج میں اپنے باپ سے ملنے قبرستان گیا۔
Dair se aane par wo khafa tha, par phir maan gaya,
Aaj mein apne baap se milne qabristan gaya.
مدت کے بعد خواب میں آیا تھا میرا باپ
اور اُس نے مجھ سے اتنا کہا، “خوش رہا کرو۔”
Muddat ke baad khwab mein aaya tha mera baap,
Aur us ne mujhse itna kaha, “khush raha karo.”
درد کبھی نہ دینا اس خالقِ تصویر کو
سارا زمانہ کہتا ہے باپ جس چیز کو
